These days the railways are busy raising barricades between platforms across various stations between Virar to Churchgate To me it was long impending Don't know why the railways took so long to construct these But its better late than never At least these ensures that less people cross the tracks and even lesser number of accidents For the daily commuter's it could result in faster services
The barricades will also force people to use the footover bridges and subway (at few stations) that have been constructed to esure safety However there is a major task on hand for the railways That is to understand the basic reasons why people take to crossing the tracks  They range from saving time to narrow foot over bridges that easily get crowded to lack of subways It therefore becomes of utmost importance to complement the barricades by addressing the issues why people cross the tracks
Having said that I would like to laud the railways for their effort and hope that they continue esnure safety for the daily commuters
