All I have known is today—
A constant companion, familiar and true,
The morning’s breath, the evening’s sigh,
I rise and rest with today by my side.
Yet they speak of tomorrow, a brighter dawn,
A promise whispered in winds I cannot see.
I do not know the shape of tomorrow’s face,
Nor the feel of its touch, soft or heavy.
Today I’ve held in my hands,
Watched it bloom and wither, come and go,
But tomorrow—
Tomorrow remains a stranger to my eyes,
A shadow on the horizon, unseen, unknown.
Still, hope stirs within,
Painting dreams of what may be,
Building castles in the sky of a better day—
A day I have never touched,
Yet feel in the quiet corners of my heart.
For though I have never met tomorrow,
I carry its light in my soul.
It shines through the cracks of today,
Guiding me onward, even if
I know not where it leads.
